Discovery Days: Squash & Lettuce Open Field

Squash & Lettuce Open Field: A Look Back at Our Discovery Days

From June 11 to 20, our French and International sales teams welcomed clients and partners to showcase our lettuce and squash varieties under real open-field growing conditions.

These Discovery Days provided a great opportunity to share our field expertise and support our customers in preparing for the upcoming season.

In the spotlight this year for lettuce:

  • GOBLIN stands out with its semi-open head, perfectly suited to the fresh market. Its compact plant with semi-erect habit makes cultivation easier and limits cutting surface, helping to better manage sorting and packing.

  • PASTINICE, ideal for mid-season, combines an attractive presentation, good volume, and strong resistance to tip burn and bolting. It features dual resistance to Bremia, ensuring crop security from start to finish.

  • CANTERBURY offers both visual appeal and functionality, with its glossy green leaves and semi-open head. Its compact plant provides excellent field holding ability, and the outstanding underside quality allows for generous volume without compromising uniformity.

  • RÉGALE features complete Bremia resistance, making it especially robust at the end of the cycle. With its intense red colour and excellent weight-to-volume ratio, it’s a top choice for harvests in cooler climates—delivering both visual quality and yield.

Other varieties were also presented, including TCHOUPY (C3124), SEGURA (E2228), and several trial varieties.

On the squash side, visitors discovered:

DELHIRIUM, resistant to New Delhi virus and powdery mildew, offers optimal sanitary security. Its compact, upright and open plant habit simplifies harvesting. The dark green fruits are cylindrical, uniform, and meet market standards.

These Discovery Days were also the perfect occasion to introduce DELHIXIR, the trial line N167, and the new variety CALISTÉE.
